Job Summary
Operate Mori Seiki turret lathe CNC machines to produce precision components by loading materials, setting up and configuring tooling, and programming/editing CNC code (G-code/FANUC or similar controls). Read and interpret engineering drawings to determine methods and sequence, inspect finished parts with micrometers/calipers to ensure tolerance, monitor tool wear and perform timely tool changes, and maintain accurate records. Collaborate with production team to meet scheduling and delivery requirements, follow all safety procedures, and identify opportunities to improve machining processes, efficiency, and productivity.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or GED
- Work Experience: 2+ years of experience in a metal fabricating environment with knowledge of machining
- Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Skills: Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, thread gauges)
- Skills: Basic knowledge of metals and alloys
- Skills: Strong math skills including arithmetic and geometry
- Abilities: Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Physical: Ability to lift, bend, stoop, climb, push, and pull as needed
- Physical: Prolonged standing and/or walking throughout the shift
- Physical: Frequent handling of materials weighing 10–50+ pounds
- Safety: Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Knowledge: Ability to use precision measuring instruments, calipers & micrometers to gauge parts
- Competence: Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
