Job Summary
Operate embossing, braking, inspection, winder, coater, and mixing machines for conveyor belt manufacturing. Prepare machinery for operation by setting gauges and adjusting controls per specifications. Mix PVC pastes according to formulas and coordinate with production runs. Change rollers, ensure proper fabric feed and tension, and verify coating material application. Inspect fabric and raw materials for visual flaws, defects, and thickness variations. Maintain close observation of production processes to identify and correct malfunctions. Complete and maintain required reports. Work a four-on-four schedule with straight 12-hour shifts, including overtime after 40 hours.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, understand and follow manufacturing instructions for manufacturing processes, including units of measure in both English and Metric.
- Need strong math skills with the ability to calculate percentages of formula ingredients.
- Acuity of vision (corrected to 20/20) in order to be able to visually detect flaws and defects in fabric.
- Ability to independently and safely operate required machinery and related equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with operating controls.
- Satisfactory completion of required Forbo training programs.
- One to two years satisfactory work experience in operating continuous-type, heavy manufacturing equipment.
- Must be available to work overtime as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous coater experience is a plus.
