Job Summary
Operate machinery in a highly automated meat processing facility to ensure continuous product flow, monitor and adjust settings, and resolve jams or equipment malfunctions. Perform basic lubrication, inspection, repairs, and cleaning while maintaining a safe, organized workspace and adhering to Tyson policies. Monitor robotic pocket fill, film supply, and cook/chill systems to maintain throughput, yield, and food safety. Identify product defects, operate scales and scanners, and open/close work orders in the MES system. Work the 2nd shift in a cold, damp environment with temperatures ranging from 28-42 degrees, lifting up to 50 lbs and standing 8-12 hours.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 months of machine or packer operator experience
- Minimum of 6 months of continuous work in the last 3 years
- Must be willing and able to be exposed to a cold/damp work environment with temperatures ranging from 28-42 degrees
- Must be willing and able to lift, push, or carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment and requires repetitive motions
- Must be willing and able to stand, bend, reach overhead, and twist for long periods
- Must be willing and able to stand 8-12 hours a day on a hard floor
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Must be willing and able to operate machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product through the production process
- Must be willing and able to monitor and adjust machine settings as needed
- Must be willing and able to notify the supervisor if machines should require maintenance
- Must be willing and able to maintain a safe work environment and adhere to Tyson policies and procedures
- Must be willing and able to operate forklifts
- Must be willing and able to identify and act upon system-based error messages
- Must be willing and able to resolve jams and equipment malfunctions
- Must be willing and able to open and close work orders in the MES system
- Must be willing and able to monitor, interpret, and resolve system alerts
- Must be willing and able to identify a variety of potential product defects in a short period of time
- Must be willing and able to safely and efficiently resolve jam-ups and equipment malfunctions
- Must be willing and able to identify material quality defects and take appropriate action
- Must be willing and able to operate scales
- Must be willing and able to weigh drafts of meat using bench-top scales for speed and weight accuracy
- Must be willing and able to operate handheld digital scanners
- Must be willing and able to operate the film lift mobbing 500lb film rolls
- Must be willing and able to monitor the robotic pocket fill and supply the line with film
- Must be willing and able to monitor the peeler, cook/chill system, and unload monitor
- Must be willing and able to ensure the supply of customer orders
- Must be willing and able to maintain throughput, yield, quality, food safety, and personal safety
- Must be willing and able to perform basic lubrication, inspection adjustments, repairs, cleaning (CLAIRLEAN Manufacturing)
- Must be willing and able to contribute to a continuous improvement environment by participating in activities to include line side problem-solving
- Must be willing and able to maintain a clean and orderly workspace
- Must be willing and able to work 2ND SHIFT
