Job Summary
Operate packaging lines, perform general housekeeping, sweep, vacuum, paint, lubricate, and power wash equipment. Prepare and package product while keeping lines stocked with materials. Conduct basic troubleshooting and repair of packaging equipment, including changing filters and understanding pumps and valves. Properly start up, run, shut down, and tear down pumps, sanitary lines, and line equipment. Fill out production and packaging material documentation and report quality issues. Communicate with supervisors regarding line stops, equipment needs, and product supplies. Adhere to chemical handling procedures and all safety, food safety, and GMP rules. Lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, and work in confined spaces.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Basic computer knowledge - data
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb stairs
- Must be able to bend
- Must be able to kneel
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to work at heights
- Must be able to operate a motorized fork lift
- Must be able to perform a variety of jobs, tasks, or duties as required
- Must be able to work their bid shift, overtime, and weekends as required
- Must successfully pass qualification test of that Operator 2 is responsible for
- Must adhere to and comply with all safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules, regulations and policies
- Must fill in when needed in temporary/permanent vacancies
- Must maintain acceptable attendance
- Must Learn and follow written rules and procedures
- Must Produce accurate documentation
- Must Keep lines stocked with packaging materials
- Must Fill out appropriate paper related to the lines CCP's, production, packaging materials
- Must Basic troubleshooting and repair of packaging equipment
- Must Knowledge of basic operation of equipment on the line
- Must Communicate with supervisor when line is down due to equipment or product supply
- Must Communicate with supervisor and leads when equipment needs attention
- Must Report/resolve any observed quality issues while operating line
- Must Proper start up, running and shut down of line
- Must Proper tear down, cleaning, and reassembling pumps, sanitary lines, and line equipment
- Must Knowledge of chemical handling procedures including PPE required
- Must Knowledge of process flow and ability to trace flow from source tank to filling process
- Must Basic understanding of pumps, valves, and how to change filters
