Job Summary
Machine Operator 1 (MO1) operates, maintains, and repairs Loram railway maintenance and inspection equipment. This field-based role may include operating Loram’s on-track MOW equipment and/or on-track vehicles under supervision in both operating and travel modes. Responsibilities include leading comprehensive job briefings, adhering to safety processes, understanding on-track safety, locating emergency equipment, performing machine inspections, recording and reporting parts used, conducting maintenance per schedules, describing gauge and HMI functions, and documenting daily field and administrative reports. The role requires demonstrated technical skills (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and machine operations), ability to learn and communicate effectively, and compliance with pre-employment assessments and background checks. Certifications: railroad certifications, CPR/First Aid, valid driver's license. The position entails significant travel (including international) and a company commitment to safety and quality in a railroad environment.
Required Qualifications
- Licenses/Certifications: Maintain Railroad Certifications, CPR/First Aid, valid Driver’s License
- Pre-employment requirements: pre-employment physical, DOT/DS/BAT, HPE, Audiogram, eVerifile/eRailSafe background check, MVR check, drug/alcohol test
- 1+ year experience with MS Windows and computer background (Aurora)
- 1 year of working knowledge with MS Windows, preferred radiation experience, Class B CDL or ability to obtain
