Machine Maintenance Technician, PCB (Starlink)

Job Summary

Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on production line equipment including copper electroplating, PCB layup, SMT lines, and chemical etching systems. Diagnose root causes using schematics and diagnostic tools to monitor performance and make reliability improvement recommendations. Execute lockout tagout procedures and operate material handling equipment like forklifts and scissor lifts. Communicate with suppliers to specify requirements and submit purchase requisitions while providing training to production personnel. Work overtime and weekends as needed in a hazardous chemical environment, adhering to safety policies and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 2+ years of maintenance or troubleshooting experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic systems
  • Must be willing to work overtime, and/or weekends as needed
  • Must be willing to work one or more of the following schedules: A shift: 5:00am - 5:00pm (Sunday - Wednesday), B shift: 5:00am - 5:00pm (Thursday - Wednesday), C shift: 5:00pm - 5:00am (Sunday - Wednesday), D shift: 5:00pm - 5:00am (Thursday - Wednesday)
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Must be comfortable working in a production environment with extensive use of hazardous chemicals such as acids, alkalis, and solvents
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE for lab and electro-chemical manufacturing environment
  • Must be comfortable with climbing up and down ladders, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, carrying, crawling, and maneuvering in tight spaces
  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining PCB manufacturing equipment from vendors such as Temgtai, Benmayor, Schmoll, Shoda, Sigma Mecer, Wise, Advanced Engineering, Boffotto, Dynachem, Indubond, Machvision, or others
  • Experience maintaining ASM-SMT, Flexlink, Heller, Pemtron, Koh Young, Thermotron, Envirotronic, ESpec, Mycronic, Nordson, and Beckhoff equipment
  • Experience maintaining Engel plastic injection molding machines and Idra high pressure die casting machines
  • 5+ years of experience as a maintenance technician or field service engineer
  • Methodical approach to troubleshooting with high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent manual dexterity in order to repair and perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment
  • Proficiently use a computer and MS Outlook and Word
  • Ability to use power tools and hand tools
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and drawings
  • Ability to write detailed repair reports when necessary (skilled with use of Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to company policies, quality policies, and industry standards
  • Familiar with Lean or Six Sigma tools like Five Whys methodology
  • Current or past certification for IPC-A-600, IPC-6012 or equivalent
  • Current or past certification for IPC-J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610
