Job Summary
Conduct daily maintenance on Thermoformers, Punch Presses, and Extruders by rebuilding pumps, changing mechanical seals, and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Perform minor electrical work on valves and motors, rebuild granulator blades, and machine parts to tight tolerances using micrometers and welding equipment. Complete work orders in SAP, sign out parts, and execute proper startup, shutdown, and lockout/tagout procedures while adhering to all safety, GMP, and confined space policies. Perform preventive maintenance inspections, unjam scrap lines, replace filters, and conduct housekeeping duties. Work as directed by the supervisor and shift lead, complying with all plant rules and emergency response protocols.
Required Qualifications
- E-VERIFY
- Proper training for minor electrical work (unwire and rewire direct replacement parts such as valves, photo eyes, small motors)
- Knowledge of application of hydraulic and pneumatic valves on Thermoformers, Punch Presses, and Extruders
- Ability to use inside, outside micrometers and other shop measuring tools
- Ability to bore and broach gears and sprockets
- Ability to machine and fabricate parts to tolerances of +-.001
- Ability to weld with mig and arc welding machines
- Ability to perform pipefitting including tubing and hydraulic fittings
- Knowledge of domestic water system and where the shutoffs are
- Knowledge of where the main gas shutoff is located
- Knowledge of asbestos location and radioactive devices in the plant and proper handling
- Understanding of the roles and actions of different individuals for plant emergency response
