Machine Learning Systems Engineer

Senior Machine Learning Systems Engineer responsible for architecting and building scalable backend systems powering a media intelligence platform. Responsibilities include end-to-end ownership of backend components, designing data models for media assets and metadata, building high-throughput ingestion pipelines, leading AI/ML workflows (embedding generation, OCR, speech-to-text, multimodal inference), optimizing model serving for latency and cost, implementing robust asynchronous processing, and ensuring observability and reliability. Collaboration with ML engineers and data scientists to benchmark models, integrate AI services, and guide engineering teams on scalable, production-grade backend architectures. Proficiency in Python/Node.js, experience with HuggingFace transformers, PyTorch/TensorFlow, vector search systems, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) is required; prior experience with SOTA model optimization, deployment pipelines, and distributed systems is highly preferred.
