Job Summary
Applied Algorithms and Autonomy team member responsible for developing ML/AI capabilities for space-domain applications. Responsibilities include developing, training, and evaluating ML models for mission-relevant tasks; data ingestion, preprocessing, and feature engineering pipelines; running experiments, tracking results, and contributing to model evaluation and iteration; writing clean, tested Python code as part of a collaborative engineering team; and learning from senior engineers to contribute meaningfully from day one. Preferred experience includes applying ML to real-world or research datasets, familiarity with classification, regression, clustering, or anomaly detection, version control with Git, and exposure to MLOps concepts like experiment tracking or model versioning. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, proficiency in Python, solid ML fundamentals, and an interest in spaceflight and space security. Compensation ranges from $85,000 to $180,000 with equity and benefits; work location is onsite in Denver or Los Angeles, with ITAR/compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, machine learning, data science, electrical engineering, or a similar discipline
- Proficient in Python
- Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts including supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and model evaluation
- Exposure to ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX through coursework, research, or personal projects
- Strong mathematical fundamentals in linear algebra, statistics, and probability
- Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and grow in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
- Passion for spaceflight and advancing capabilities related to space domain awareness and space security
