Machine Learning Engineer

Machine Learning Engineer role on Booz Allen’s Warfighter Performance team. You’ll train, test, deploy, and maintain ML models that learn from data to optimize warfighter performance, collaborating with data engineers, data scientists, solutions architects, SMEs, and product owners to deliver mission-critical ML solutions. Responsibilities include applying best-fit ML algorithms and technologies, building scripts/notebooks/prototypes that process data, evaluating models, and developing AI/ML prototypes, data pipelines, model workflows, and agentic components. You’ll work with Python, SQL, Git, and libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow; leverage APIs, cloud-hosted services, and tools to ground AI systems in real data; understand retrieval-augmented generation concepts, embeddings, tool-calling, and grounded responses; communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The role involves collaborating across teams to define ML strategy for warfighter performance and technology, with opportunities to grow within a large ML community.
