Job Summary
Machine Learning Engineer at Baringa (London) focused on delivering state-of-the-art ML solutions across client engagements. Responsibilities include defining and implementing ML projects through full lifecycle (data prep, model engineering, evaluation, deployment, monitoring), establishing ML Ops frameworks, upskilling clients, performing maturity assessments of Cloud/AI environments, and translating business requirements into scalable ML solutions. Candidate should have an advanced STEM degree, strong practical ML and DL experience (transformers, PyTorch/TensorFlow), production-grade Python pipelines, hands-on cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), and excellent client-facing communication and collaboration skills.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering or related STEM field
- Strong problem-solving skills and solid grounding in classical ML and deep learning
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both with teams and in client-facing engagements
- Proven ability to build machine learning models and pipelines using Python and common ML/DL libraries (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow) from early conceptualisation to full deployment in scalable production environments
- Ability to design, deploy and maintain ML solutions on modern frameworks with version control, testing, MLOps, CI/CD and API design
- Hands on experience with one of AWS, Azure or GCP in production environments and ML platforms like SageMaker or Azure ML
- Lifelong learner with drive to develop skillsets and help others
- Experience translating business requirements into ML solutions and advising clients
- Experience building ML strategies and governance including fairness and accountability
