Entry-level Mechanical Engineer sought to join a multi-discipline machine-design team working on projects across automotive, aerospace, defense, nuclear, and motorsports markets. Responsibilities include performing short-duration project tasks with clearly defined requirements, analyzing results using prescribed techniques, preparing calculations and technical reports, and aiding in the production of complete CAD/drawing packages. The role involves collaboration with structural, mechanical process, controls and instrumentation, and aerodynamics/fluid dynamics engineers, and requires coursework in Statics & Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Kinematics, Fluids, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and System Dynamics; preferred qualifications include engineering internships/co-ops, 3D CAD experience (Inventor/Solidworks), and experience with FEA software (Ansys/NASTRAN), machining/fabrication, and knowledge of common machine elements (gears, bearings, screws, belts, cams, linkages, gearmotors, servomotors).
