Job Summary
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers to assemble custom automation equipment using mechanical drawings and project specifications. Operate a variety of shop equipment and hand tools safely and effectively while preparing materials for secondary purposes such as finishing and heat treatment. Foster open communication with the Build Lead and Project Managers to document machine updates and communicate progress. Take ownership of your portion of each project, making independent decisions and solving challenges while ensuring proper processes are followed and the Final Ship Checklist is completed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. This full-time, hourly onsite role in Holland, MI requires 50lbs of lifting and specific certifications like Hi-Lo and Overhead Crane.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude with a strong commitment to safety and quality
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in industrial environments (lift 50lbs as required, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, climbing beneath machines, etc.)
- Ability to obtain Hi-Lo, Aerial Platform, and Overhead Crane certifications
Desired Qualifications
- Vocational or technical education
- Ability to read mechanical part and assembly drawings
- Experience building industrial equipment, machinery, or automation systems
- Experience operating common fabrication and machine shop equipment
