Job Summary
Machine Builder in Cookeville, TN: Assemble, fit, install, rebuild, and repair automated machinery using engineering drawings and specifications; interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics to support assembly and troubleshooting; verify BOMs and ensure components meet design and customer requirements; align components, perform machine setup and testing, and document layouts with dimensions to support fabrication; troubleshoot and identify root causes, support process improvements, and collaborate with engineers/designers to deliver automation systems; maintain a safe, clean work environment and assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical certificate in manufacturing, assembly, machining, or related mechanical field (preferred)
- 1–3 years hands-on experience in machine building, assembly, manufacturing, or related technical environment
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with precision mechanical assembly and machine setup
- Experience troubleshooting equipment and resolving mechanical issues
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow detailed instructions, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated reliability and consistent attendance
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
