Job Summary
Operate the cash register and perform all related checkout procedures in a fast, efficient, friendly, and accurate manner. Assist guests by providing knowledge of all product locations, implementing security and cash drawer accounting procedures, and ensuring proper charges for items. Comply with all company policies, including ID verification for tobacco, alcohol, and WIC, while maintaining good working relationships with team members to improve storewide sales. Notify management of pricing errors or items not found during the checkout function. Possess basic math skills and ability to lift up to 50lbs. Tobacco and Alcohol certification required; bi-lingual preferred. Minimum age 19.
Required Qualifications
- Tobacco and Alcohol Certified
- Applicable cashier duty certifications
- Ability to write, speak, hear, and understand the spoken word
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals
- Basic math skills
- Basic math skills using units of money, weight, measurement, volume addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- Understanding of gross projections, transmittals, weekly summaries, invoices, transfers, labor goals, inventory, and other paperwork
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs or more
- 19 years of age
