Job Summary
Macedonian Reviewer/Editor/Certifier sought to support the Department of Justice with Translation, Interpretation, Transcription and other Linguistic Support Services. Responsibilities include translating documents and multimedia content, potentially involving legal materials across medical, financial, historical, and other technical domains. Tasks may require interpreting at court/depositions, maintaining confidentiality for sensitive materials, and producing linguistically accurate translations that preserve tone and register. Must have strong English and Macedonian editing skills, ILR 4 level or equivalent, U.S. citizenship, and experience with law enforcement or legal departments. Proficiency with CAT tools (notably SDL Trados Studio) and the ability to work remotely or from assigned CONUS/NCR locations, with some travel anticipated.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Macedonian language along with superior English and editing skills
- Qualifying ILR 4 minimum or equivalent on language/translation tests
- Must have lived 3 of the last 5 years in the U.S.
- At least 1 year of experience with a law enforcement and/or legal department
- U.S. citizen
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Macedonian across formal, diplomatic, and casual contexts
- Knowledge of specialized vocabulary in English and Macedonian for government roles and missions
- Native-fluent writing in the native language with professional command of the non-native language
- Ability to translate faithfully without changes, omissions, or additions; preserve tone and register
- Ethics in linguistic work
- Proficiency with CAT tools, especially SDL Trados Studio
- Active Public Trust or higher security clearance
- Location: Remote / National Capitol Region / Various CONUS Locations
- Travel: Some travel may be required
