Job Summary
Macedonian Linguist position within Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (YSG) and The Unconventional (TU) for language support across current and potential government contracts. Responsibilities include interpretation (in-person and virtual), translation and transcription of written, audio, and video materials, document review/editing, and foreign language instruction in classroom or virtual settings. Candidates may support multiple language requirements across the YSG/TU portfolio as needs arise, with travel some travel may be required. Requires ILR English proficiency at levels 2+ (CAT I/II/III depending on category), security vetting or SECRET/TOP SECRET clearance as applicable, and demonstrated capability to provide idiomatic translations, consecutive interpretation, and culturally appropriate communication. Must be able to work under pressure, function as part of a professional team, and be willing to live and work in harsh environments.
Required Qualifications
- Must be qualified/certified at one of the following categories: CAT I, CAT II, CAT III with ILR level requirements in English; CAT I/II/III with security vetting or SECRET/TOP SECRET clearance as applicable; experience providing foreign language instruction to adult students; ability to translate, interpret, and review/edit materials; knowledge of local culture and customs; ability to work under high pressure and as part of a professional team; willingness to live/work in harsh environments as mission dictates; fluent English and foreign language; ability to preserve tone and register; ability to conduct idiomatic translations and consecutive interpretation.
