Job Summary
Provide clinical and operational support to campus nurses across the district while serving as a health advocate for students. Administer medications, notify parents of accidents or illnesses, and secure medical care in emergency cases. Establish procedures for mandatory screening programs, monitor immunization compliance for virtual campus students, and coordinate screen team schedules. Educate faculty and students on health topics, consult with physicians and parents, and participate in committees to develop Individual Health Plans. Supervise nurse aides and LVNs, compile health records, and report safety hazards. Comply with the Texas Nurse Practice Act and state regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required, or presently pursuing BSN with ADN degree
- Valid registered nurse license to practice professional nursing in Texas from the Board of Nursing
Desired Qualifications
- National Certified School Nurse (NCSN), preferred
- Two (2) years school nursing experience, preferred
- Two (2) years of nursing experience in a hospital or clinic setting, preferably in pediatrics
