Job Summary
MA position with Saint Alphonsus Health System in the Joint Preservation and Reconstruction Orthopedics clinic near Boise Regional Medical Center. Primary duties include scheduling and coordinating surgeries for all Joint Surgeons at the Boise clinic, plus functioning as a clinic Medical Assistant (rooming, vitals, injections, chart prep) and rotating among Orthopedics providers. Must have MA experience or complete an accredited MA program; CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA/CMAC/NPCE MA certifications accepted; BLS required. Schedule is Monday–Friday roughly 8:00am–5:00pm. Ideal candidate will have experience in surgery scheduling, knowledge of pre-authorization/insurance processes, and an interest in sports medicine and orthopedics; able to work flexibly as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- MA certification required within 90 days of hire from Saint Alphonsus approved agencies: CMA (American Association of Medical Assistants), RMA (American Medical Technologists), CCMA (National Healthcare Association), NCMA (National Center for Competency Testing), NRCMA (National Association of Health Professionals), CMAC (American Medical Certification Association), NPCE MA (National Phlebotomy Certification Examination MA)
- New Graduates: MA certificate from accredited program or school; completion of 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of externship hours; Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 year MA experience OR current MA Certification OR obtain/renew certification within 90 days from hire from listed agencies
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA, ARC or Military Training Network
