Job Summary

Medical Assistant Externship program at Primary Health Medical Group offers 4-5 weeks (160-180 hours) of hands-on experience across Urgent Care, Family Practice, COVID Triage, and COVID Vaccine Administration. Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Nationally Accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program (fully in-person or hybrid in-person and online; didactic and skills-based education)
  • Complete an interview and an assessment to demonstrate knowledge of triage reporting, administering medication, and venipuncture skills
  • Medical education and passing a skills assessment conducted by PHMG staff
  • Venipuncture skills
  • Customer service-oriented attitude/behavior
  • Computer proficiency and ability to use applicable software
  • Recommended vaccines include annual influenza, Hep B, Tdap, MMR, Varicella, and TB
  • If offered a permanent position, graduates have one year to obtain CMA or RMA license
  • Ability to assist in examination/treatment under provider direction
  • Assist with back-office patient flow, paperwork, and customer service
  • Maintain confidentiality (HIPAA)
  • Background check and drug screening as part of employment requirements
