Job Summary
Lead tender preparation by estimating from first principles, analyzing documentation for implications, and preparing Bills of Quantities and cost estimates for national submissions. Perform take-offs using Buildsoft Cubit Estimating and subcontractor comparisons, then inspect proposed jobs section by section to query discrepancies with clients. Assist through construction phases by preparing variation submissions, calculating preliminary allowances, and leading post-tender meetings. Submit all documentation to clients, follow up on tenders while updating the estimating register, and attend weekly estimating meetings. Comply with Work Health and Safety regulations and support major tenders by sharing information with other estimators.
Required Qualifications
- Australian industry experience
- Proven record of tendering commercial projects up to $10M
- Demonstrated ability to manage the preparation of accurate, professional tender submissions and proposals on time to an industry-expected high standard
- Proficient skills in Buildsoft Cubit Estimating software, Cubit Select, EstimateOne, Office 365, and MS SharePoint
- Tender experience in fit-out, refurbishment, live environment, hospitality, aged care, education, and small new-build projects
- Skilled in job estimating in a construction environment
- Good understanding of various construction methods and knowledge of building, material components, building regulations, estimating (including take-offs), and WHS&E
- Knowledge of contractual procedures and responsibilities
- Highly numerate with a well-developed ability to accurately manipulate numerical information
