Job Summary
M&A Reporter covering US M&A activity, responsible for producing news-style intelligence on live deals for a global professional audience. Build and maintain an extensive in-person network of sources across financial ecosystem, conduct daily off-record conversations to surface non-public insights, monitor active transactions, and translate findings into timely market intelligence using AI-assisted editorial workflows. Maintain strict confidentiality, adhere to journalistic standards including fact-checking and source verification, and collaborate with a fast-moving, entrepreneurial team from a hybrid Manhattan office.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in financial journalism, with a focus on M&A, private credit or private equity reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of M&A, private equity or private credit markets
- Skilled at cultivating senior-level sources and handling off-record, background-only conversations
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, both in-person and remotely
- High attention to detail and ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy
- Comfortable operating independently as part of a fast-moving, entrepreneurial team
