M&A Banker - Vice President/Executive Director

Job Summary
Lead and originate/ execute M&A transactions from the Japan platform for JPMorgan’s global clients, collaborating with coverage partners and senior bankers. Act as day-to-day leader on M&A matters across clients and sectors, lead dialogue with clients and transaction counterparties to win mandates, and liaise with various product groups (ECM, DCM, Markets) to cross-sell. Coordinate with Japan and global teams on origination and execution, demonstrate leadership and teamwork to guide project teams, and leverage strong financial analysis and understanding of the transaction cycle. Opportunity to develop towards a leadership position within the Global Investment Banking M&A group in Tokyo, Japan.
Required Qualifications
- More than 6 years’ work experience in an investment banking front office role
- A well-rounded academic background from a top-tier educational institution
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact and influence clients, professionals, and counterparties in both Japanese and English
- Self-directed, highly motivated and able to work independently and proactively
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills to lead project teams in execution
- Understands transaction cycle and the steps in the process
- Strong financial analytical skills
