Job Summary
The Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) at Overlake's Off-Campus Emergency Department provides direct patient care to patients and their families under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include performing waived and moderately complex point of care testing, obtaining blood samples, and handling potentially bio-hazardous specimens. Candidates are required to have a High School Diploma or equivalent, CPR certification, and an active nursing or medical assistant license. A minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, along with knowledge of medical terminology and EKG.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Health Care Provider CPR Certification
- Washington State Nursing Assistant-Certified (NAC) or Washington State Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR) or Washington State Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist (MA-P)
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge and handling of hospital equipment
- Computer familiarity
- Ability to read, write, and speak in the English language
