Job Summary
Provide individualized and small-group academic support to students in assigned subject areas including Math, English, Science, History, and Orton-Gillingham specialists. Develop positive relationships with students while communicating professionally with leadership regarding progress and scheduling. Utilize the School's instructional technology and virtual learning platforms to maintain accurate tutoring schedules and records. Support additional Lyceum programming throughout the year, including December and May exam preparation sessions, Extended Day workshops, and optional Camp Cyclone summer programs. Work collaboratively in a flexible environment that fits your availability, partnering with families and faculty to promote student success.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with faculty and Lyceum staff
Desired Qualifications
- Previous classroom teaching experience
- Previous tutoring experience
- Specialized training or certification in Orton-Gillingham or similar reading intervention programs (for literacy positions)
- Passion for working with students
- Ability to differentiate instruction based on individual student needs
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational skills and reliability
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Flexibility to work before, during, or after the school day based on student needs
