Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN/LPN) provides direct nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing facility under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Director of Nursing. The LPN is responsible for administering medications, monitoring resident health, assisting with care plans, and ensuring high-quality care in accordance with facility policies and state regulations. Key responsibilities include administering medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring vital signs, reporting changes to the RN or physician, assisting with care plans, supervising CNAs, maintaining medical documentation, ensuring infection control and safety standards, responding to emergencies, participating in shift reports and interdisciplinary team meetings, and providing compassionate care while maintaining resident dignity and privacy.
Required Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of employment.
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred.
- Current CPR certification required.
