Job Summary
Assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department in a long-term care facility. Participate in developing and updating policies/procedures, facilitate resolution of resident/family issues, ensure current reference materials (PDRs, regulations, practice standards) are maintained, contribute to the facility’s quality assurance program, perform administrative duties such as forms and charting, make nursing diagnoses to guide care, conduct daily rounds to supervise nursing staff, develop and implement plans of care, coordinate with physicians and ensure timely physician visits, authorize restraints when necessary, provide health education, assist with in-service training programs, develop assessments and care plans for residents, maintain confidentiality of resident information, and participate in budgeting for the nursing service department. This role requires BSN-preferred education, State Board of Nursing licensure/continuing education compliance, and 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
- Must be in good standing with the State Board of Nursing and maintain all required continuing education/licensing requirements
