Job Summary
Gather patient and family data including biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, and environmental information per practice protocol. Collect and document vital signs, BMI, height, weight, and reason for visit with 100% accuracy, updating records for prior care locations. Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during treatments, examinations, and testing within scope of practice. Administer medications and immunizations as directed, documenting all interventions and education in the electronic health record. Provide patient and family education as instructed by the provider or protocol. Tasks are measured through evaluator observation, provider feedback, and electronic health record review. Candidates must undergo respiratory fit testing to comply with occupational health and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- Other Diploma or Certificate from a school of vocational nursing
- Documentation from the Texas Board of Nursing verifying an exception to the requirement for a diploma from a school of vocational nursing
- LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse State of Texas
- BLS - Basic Life Support American Heart Association
- Ability to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards
