Job Summary
Conduct wound-related patient care under RN direction, including basic life support protocols, intake, discharge, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy duties as trained. Assist with vein clinic operations, gather patient information and supplies, and report quality issues to the Clinical Nurse Manager. Communicate therapeutic interventions with team members, function as a documentation scribe, and perform case management assistance per state regulations. Maintain compliance with CMS guidelines, hospital policies, and accrediting standards while managing documentation and equipment. Requires two years of LPN/LVN experience with wound care preference.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program/state approved educational program
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of practice
- Two (2) or more years' experience as LPN/LVN
- One (1) or more years in SNF or LTACH setting
- Demonstrated competency in BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Demonstrated organization, prioritization and time-management skills
- Basic knowledge of regulatory/accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations
- Strong interpersonal, listening, as well as oral and written communication skills
- Customer service skills and follow-up skills
- Ability to multi-task and to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with others and in a team environment
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to stay calm in all situations
- Working knowledge of computerized nursing systems
- Physical ability to be in a stationary position for extended periods of time (4 hours or more)
- Physical ability to view computer screen for extended periods of time (4 hours or more)
- Physical ability to key frequently on a computer for 4 hours or more
- Physical ability to lift/moving items up to 20 pounds
- Physical ability to lift/moving items up to 75 pounds with equipment assistance
- Color perception
- Close, distance and peripheral vision
