Job Summary
LVN or Medical Assistant position at Austin Regional Clinic (Pediatrics) with a new-hire signing bonus. Responsibilities include accurately documenting patient status and care, following refill protocols, rooming patients and recording vitals, performing diagnostic tests (EKGs, audiograms, tympanograms, spirometry, visual screenings), inventory management, processing provider refill requests and triage calls, cleaning and stocking exam rooms and equipment, and assisting providers with procedures (e.g., sigmoidoscopy prep and cardiac stress testing) as needed. The role requires adherence to HIPAA/OSHA, professional communication, teamwork, and dependable attendance. LVN duties involve administering medications/injections and patient education; Staff Medical Assistant duties include education materials, medication administration under physician direction, reviewing lab results, and supporting clinic operations. Qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent, Texas LVN license and CPR for LVN, or equivalent Medical Assistant training/experience with CPR/BLS. Proficiency with medical terminology, computer skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Graduation from an accredited school of vocational nursing for LVN track.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas and current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider CPR.
- For Staff Medical Assistant: High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant experience or CNA/EMT/PCT or graduate of a medical assistant program; CPR/BLS certification preferred; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Experience in ambulatory or acute care settings preferred for LVN; ability to administer medications/injections and provide direct patient care under physician order; familiarity with immunization programs and vaccine management may be involved.
- CPR certification current or within onboarding period; strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities; proficiency with Windows and electronic health records (EPIC) preferred.
