Job Summary

Conduct diagnostic testing including EKGs, audiograms, and visual screenings while accurately documenting patient status, care rendered, and provider orders. Administer medications and injections under physician direction, manage vaccine usage and wastage, and perform patient follow-up activities for lab results and appointments. Room patients, take vital signs, and assist providers with sigmoidoscopy exams and cardiac stress testing setup. Maintain equipment sterilization and inventory levels, ensuring rooms are properly stocked and linens are fresh. Call patients to inform them of normal lab results and review abnormal findings per provider instructions. Adhere to clinic protocols, OSHA, and HIPAA compliance while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Graduation from an accredited school of vocational nursing
Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas
Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card
Medical Assistant experience
CNA/EMT/PCT experience providing direct patient care beyond Activities of Daily Living including experience taking manual vitals and giving medications and/or injections
Graduate of a medical assistant program
Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card or within 60 days of hire
Ability to administer medications & injections within scope of position within 90 days of hire
Knowledge of medical terminology
