Job Summary

Interview patients to obtain health history and immunization status, perform screening tests, and administer injections and drugs per agency policy. Take vital signs, maintain patient records, and prepare oral reports while assembling clinic equipment and disposing of used supplies correctly. Clean and maintain all clinic equipment and supplies. This role requires a current California LVN license, IV certification, and phlebotomy skills, with the ability to lift 75 pounds and work various shifts including Saturdays. Candidates must possess valid driver's license and auto liability insurance, with eligibility to work in the United States.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to work various shifts
  • may at times be asked to travel to other NRHC clinic sites to fill in as needed

  • Knowledge of and the ability to perform nursing procedures for which the vocational nursing course has provided the necessary degree of skill and judgment
  • Knowledge of accepted procedures for disposing of used supplies
  • Ability to observe the general physical condition of patients to detect signs of abnormalities
  • Ability to record observations completely, accurately, legibly, and concisely
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and over telephone
  • Ability to exercise tact, initiative, and good judgment in dealing with people
  • Ability to accept supervision
  • Must have the physical ability execute the full performance of the duties of the position
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Prolonged periods of standing and moving may be required
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times
  • Licensed to practice as a vocational nurse in the state
  • Current California LVN license
  • current CPR certification
  • IV certified
  • able to perform phlebotomy procedures
  • Must have valid California driver's license, auto liability insurance, and eligibility to work in United States
  • Competent computer skills, preferably with ECW
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize to maintain optimum clinic back office flow, maintain patient confidentiality, and be flexible to meet the needs of patients and co-workers, use discretion/good judgment
