Job Summary

LVN/Medical Assistant role in Dermatology at Austin Regional Clinic. Responsibilities include accurately reporting and documenting patient care and provider orders, refilling medications per ARC protocols, rooming patients, taking and documenting vital signs, performing diagnostic tests (EKGs, audiograms, tympanograms, spirometry, visual screenings), maintaining inventory and supplies, processing medication refills, triage callbacks, cleaning and stocking patient areas, and assisting providers with procedures such as sigmoidoscopies and cardiac stress testing. For LVN duties, administer medications and injections under physician order, provide direct nursing care, educate patients and families, may manage vaccines, and participate in immunization programs. For Staff Medical Assistant duties, provide patient education materials, administer medications under physician direction, review lab results, and support documentation and coordination. Qualifications require Texas LVN licensure and CPR/BLS, along with a high school diploma/equivalent; prior ambulatory/acute care experience is preferred for LVN and/or Medical Assistant roles. Work schedule notes include in-office hours Wednesday through Friday with potential part-time arrangement; location Austin, TX.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of vocational nursing (LVN)
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas
  • Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider CPR certification (card)
