Job Summary
LVN in a Day Surgery/Ambulatory setting provides direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include collecting and documenting patient health information, coordinating with surgical team and health care professionals to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, and managing basic life support during emergencies until attending physician is available. Duties include recording vital signs, maintaining supplies and equipment, complying with HIPAA and OSHA, attending mandatory department meetings, collaborating with other staff, and performing position-related tasks as assigned. May float among clinical services and follow department protocols. Requires graduation from an accredited LVN program and a current nursing license; ability to work under pressure and in a team-oriented health care environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing program
- Current nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board
- Cognitive skills as related to the position
