Job Summary
Provide direct patient care per State Nurse Practice Act with end-of-life focus; implement current nursing practice from the plan of care; document promptly and accurately; educate patients and families; coordinate hospice services with interdisciplinary team; prepare and use equipment with aseptic technique; manage pain and symptoms; evaluate responses to treatments; participate in quality improvement activities and organizational development; perform other duties as assigned by the RN; requires LPN/LVN license in-state and at least three years of nursing experience (community health/hospice or medical/surgical preferred); hospice philosophy and flexible hours emphasized; opportunities include tuition reimbursement, PTO/holidays, comprehensive benefits, mileage reimbursement, and advanced training programs.
Required Qualifications
- Must currently be licensed as an LPN/LVN in the State
- Must have three (3) years nursing experience, community health/hospice or medical/surgical experience is preferred
- Must understand the philosophy of hospice concept and understand needs of the terminally ill
- Must be flexible in work hours
- Must demonstrate a willingness to maintain comprehensive working knowledge regarding information systems and applicable software programs
