Job Summary
Provide nursing care under direct supervision of an RN or physician in the Mtn View, Palo Alto, Stanford, Los Altos, and surrounding areas. Integrate education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to gain confidence and cooperation from patients, families, and healthcare providers. Implement patient care plans based on diagnosis while exercising sound judgment and developed clinical skills. Distribute supplies, perform equipment maintenance, testing, and setup as needed. Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations to ensure privacy and safety. Work independently while collaborating with peers and providers to achieve departmental objectives. Manage hazardous drugs in accordance with NIOSH and USP 800 guidelines. Full-time, 40-hour day shift (Monday–Friday) with rotating weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Vocational Nursing
- LVN License evidencing program compliance
- LVN-Licensed Vocational Nurse
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- Blood draw certificate within 30 days
- DL-Valid Drivers License
- AUTO-Automobile Insurance
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing skills
- Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions
- Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Possess written and verbal communications skills
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods
- General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to be part of the team
- Ability to accomplish multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
- Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers
- Ability to manage, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer hazardous drugs in accordance with USP 800 guidelines
