Job Summary
Manufacturing Engineering Assistant Manager responsible for leading a team of engineers focused on manufacturing engineering, industrial automation and control systems. Manages application, evaluation, development, project management, commissioning and system management of manufacturing processes. Drives continuous improvement with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, oversees capital equipment projects, and implements new processes and work standards to boost manufacturing efficiency. Ensures APQP is completed for production changes, supports plant quality initiatives through engineering controls and mistake-proofing, participates in Six Sigma projects, and prepares engineering activity status reports for management. Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, 5+ years of manufacturing experience with prior supervisory experience, ERP/SAP proficiency, CAD/CAM tooling skills, and Six Sigma certification; willingness to work off-shift hours and weekends; automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (required)
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or master’s degree in engineering (preferred)
- Minimum five years of manufacturing experience
- Prior supervisory experience
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Creo Parametric, and CAM software
- Six Sigma certification or belt
- Experience coordinating capital projects
- Experience coordinating large process improvement projects
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work off-shift hours and weekends
- Experience in automotive manufacturing or similar manufacturing environment
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Safety-conscious and self-motivated
- Strong team player
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
