Job Summary
Manufacturing Engineering Assistant Manager leads a team of engineers focused on manufacturing engineering, industrial automation, and control systems; manages application, evaluation, development, project management, commissioning, and system management of manufacturing processes; drives continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma; oversees capital equipment projects and implementation of new processes and work standards; ensures APQP for production changes and supports plant quality initiatives with engineering controls and mistake-proofing; participates in Six Sigma projects and prepares management status reports; requires off-shift and weekend flexibility and strong communication with internal/external customers; requires Bachelor’s degree in engineering, seven years of manufacturing experience, supervisory experience, ERP/SAP proficiency, CAD/CAM tools expertise, Six Sigma certification, and strong MS Office skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (required)
- Minimum seven (7) years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the automotive industry
- Prior supervisory experience managing engineering teams
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Creo Parametric, and CAM software
- Experience coordinating capital projects
- Six Sigma certification or belt
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
