Job Summary
Own the complete technical architecture of a connected consumer electronics platform across hardware, firmware, cloud services, and end-user applications. This is the single point of accountability for how every layer of the system works together as one product in a fast-growing startup. Define interfaces across MCU firmware, device hub communication, edge compute, cloud services, and third-party integrations; drive technology selection with clear rationale; collaborate with hardware, software, and product teams; ensure OTA updates, field diagnostics, and long-term maintainability; ensure regulatory design for UL 8750, FCC Part 15B, NEC Class 2; manage BOM visibility and supply-chain risk; architect services for provisioning, telemetry, remote diagnostics, and ML pipelines; design end-to-end security models; lead DevOps practices and onboarding of contract and full-time engineers. 8+ years of experience across embedded systems, power electronics, IoT, and cloud services; deep knowledge of ARM Cortex-M, secure boot, TLS/DTLS, cloud provisioning, and hardware-software co-design; familiarity with regulatory certification processes; experience shipping hardware in early-stage companies; strong cross-disciplinary communication skills. Preferred qualifications include consumer electronics manufacturing readiness (DFM/DFT), sensor fusion or smart home standards (Matter, Thread, Zigbee, Z-Wave), ML at the edge, and cost-target management.
