Job Summary
Seasonal Lumber Yard role at Friedman’s Home Improvement in Sonoma, CA. Responsibilities include answering customers’ questions about location, price, and merchandise use; service customers in person or via phone inquiries; continually upgrade product knowledge; assist customers by guiding them to the proper department or locating products; perform basic computer tasks for inquiries, quotes, and orders; assess customer needs and recommend related or substitute items; sell and close sales on a project-oriented basis by presenting product data; manage multiple customers efficiently; operate equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, and saws as needed; this is a non-exempt, seasonal position with retail hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- One or more years of experience in a retail environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of technology with the ability to learn new systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds
