Job Summary
Greet customers and contractors, load materials into vehicles after validating transaction records, and unload incoming freight without damaging goods or equipment. Operate forklifts to merchandise and stock the yard, accurately build loads for delivery, and assist truck drivers in unloading shingles, drywall, lumber, and millwork. Respond to inquiries regarding product selection, pricing, and delivery scheduling while maintaining inventory, displays, and pricing labels to merchandising standards. Enforce all safety rules and policies during daily operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- An acceptable driving record, valid state issued driver's license (Missouri locations require a Class E license)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to work and tolerate adverse weather conditions
- Ability to bend, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and be able to frequently lift and/or move between 50 - 100 pounds
- Regular, reliable, dependable attendance
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift experience preferred in many of the tasks
- 1 year of prior related work experience preferred
- Knowledge of building materials, applications, related equipment, and/or construction industry
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) when dealing with vendors, customers, management, and team members
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
