Job Summary

Operate all equipment safely while maintaining yard cleanliness and performing daily safety audits of saws. Load lumber by hand or forklift, cut material to specific dimensions, and maintain blades. Sort material onto tables, execute quality control for layouts, and prepare optimized loads for delivery. Utilize proper shutdown procedures, enforce Lock Out Tag Out, and wear required personal protective equipment. This position works outside Mon-Sat in rotating shifts across all weather conditions. Requires a high school diploma, English proficiency, and puncture-resistant footwear. OSHA Certified Forklift License preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English
  • Shoes that are puncture resistant, slip resistant, and made of leather or composite material
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 80 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work cordially, professionally, diplomatically and with all customers in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to concentrate and attend to detail amidst a busy work environment
  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence
  • Ability to think and respond quickly, positively, and professionally to constantly changing circumstances
  • Ability and willingness to identify processes, tools and/or procedures that may be improved upon to improve the workplace and outcomes for our customers
  • Ability to appropriately manage stress and interact with others
  • Ability to work outside in the lumberyard in all weather conditions
  • The working days are rotating Mon-Sat

Desired Qualifications

  • OSHA Certified Forklift License
  • Knowledge of receiving/inventory control principles, practices, and protocols
  • Knowledge of dimension lumber, species of material, panel products and other building materials
  • Ability to read and interpret 'picking tickets' and invoices
