Job Summary

Execute all aspects of the sales call process, including creating quotes, processing orders, and managing construction schedules for residential builders. Establish professional relationships with customers and internal teams, then walk clients to products while identifying urgent needs and completing orders quickly. Maintain customer profiles in Outlook or CRM, track material specifications, and ensure timely invoicing or deletion of open orders. Communicate with dispatch regarding returns and confirm delivery times, while proactively seeking substitute products and reporting low inventory. Complete quotes and purchase orders with high accuracy, follow up on business opportunities, and adhere to safety protocols and company policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of building materials and or experience in construction industry
  • Strong communication skills both through phone and email
  • Proven ability to develop relationships
  • Ability to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
  • Ten-key by touch
  • Ability to type 40+ WPM
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English
  • Ability to execute PLC selling strategies and initiatives
  • Ability to achieve sales goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of PLC selling principles, practices, and protocols
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to work cordially, professionally, diplomatically and with a high level of customer service in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in dealing with sensitive business matters with internal and external customers of all types
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and employees at a high skill level and speak effectively in front of groups
  • Strong focus, planning, organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage changing priorities, handle multiple projects, and do what is necessary to meet deadlines, while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to function independently, as part of a team, and as a leader within your own sales cohort with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
  • Ability to think and respond quickly, positively, and professionally to constantly changing circumstances
  • Ability to appropriately manage stress and interact with others
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
