Job Summary
Supervise and direct the workforce at the location, managing day-to-day activities of employees from other departments and implementing operational strategies to reach location goals. Lead the inventory management team, overseeing cycle counting, negative quantity research, and the 24-month dead stock write-down process while maintaining appropriate inventory levels. Enforce all company policies, including DOT requirements and safety protocols, and ensure equipment operators are trained in safe vehicle use and daily inspections. Coach and delegate financial reporting, prepare and monitor the annual budget, and review daily and monthly reports related to invoicing, payroll, and sales transactions. Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations, while fostering a team-driven environment through cross-training and open communication.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years prior supervisory/management experience
- Knowledge of management principles, practices, and protocols
- Knowledge of lumber and plywood purchasing principles, practices, and protocols
- Knowledge of home and commercial construction principles, practices, and protocols
- Knowledge of the effects of 'market conditions' upon the wood products industry
- Ability to speak, write, and read English
- Ability to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
- Ability to type 30+ WPM
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Class C driver's license and must have and maintain a good driving record
- Willingness to commute and/or relocate
- Shoes that are puncture resistant, slip resistant, and made of leather or composite material
