Job Summary

Auto Mechanic to maintain and repair vehicles. You will inspect engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues, inspect vehicle computer/electronic systems, conduct routine maintenance, and guide the bay activities to ensure services are completed and recorded on the Work Order. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing repairs/replacements (fluids, filters, belts), providing accurate estimates, keeping logs, maintaining tools/equipment, and ensuring safety. Requires good eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, problem-solving abilities, and customer communication. Shifts M-Sat; pay $15/hour plus commissions & bonuses; PTO, paid holidays, and free oil changes quarterly.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as auto mechanic
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
  • Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
  • Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)
  • Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents
  • Excellent physical condition
  • High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred
  • Valid certification (e.g ASE) is a definite plus
  • Customer service skills
  • Basic literacy (read, write, math) Verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles
  • Ability to properly use mechanical hand tools
  • Attention to detail
  • Minimum 3 months actual experience or supervised training as a hood technician required

Desired Qualifications

  • ASE certification is a definite plus
  • High school diploma preferred; vocational training or apprenticeship preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
  • Experience with vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
  • Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment
  • Willingness to observe safety precautions
  • Good communication skills with customers
