LTL Claims Specialist

Job Summary
Manage the full life cycle of LTL cargo claims related to damaged, lost, and rejected freight by organizing documentation from agents, customers, and carriers, including bills of lading and inspection reports. Review carrier tariffs and terms of carriage to determine claim liability, negotiate salvage courses of action, and request insurance coverage for all-risk loads. File and track claim reports with Carrier 411, Truckstop, and Cargonet while monitoring deadlines to ensure timely responses within carrier claim windows. This role supports the corporate claims management and legal department within Armstrong Transport Group's Charlotte headquarters.
Required Qualifications
- Willingness and ability to learn required LTL cargo claims processes
- 5 years or less of specific experience in cargo claims adjustment
- Customer service orientation
- Negotiation skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to communicate efficiently and effectively via oral and written methods
- Ability to work in a hybrid or on-site capacity
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with LTL freight operations, bills of lading, and carrier tariffs
- CCPAC (Certified Claims Professional Accreditation Counsel)
