Job Summary
Ensure dedicated trucks are loaded, unloaded, and processed accurately according to weight requirements, space availability, and freight variety. Fully understand docking operations and duties for both loaders and receivers. Load straight-trucks and trailers while maintaining correct temperatures to avoid damage. Judge freight volumes, cube loads, re-weigh as needed, and set up dock floors for efficient order retrieval. Read and cross-reference freight bills against manifests to ensure legal weights and proper product placement. Operate pallet jacks and forklifts safely, reporting any equipment repairs immediately. Work Monday to Thursday 8:00pm-4:30am and Friday 6:00pm-2:30am in a refrigerated environment, lifting up to 70 lbs. Requires minimum two years of forklift experience and ability to work in cold conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of forklift experience
- Ability to work in a cold, refrigerated environment for up to 8 hours
- Must be able to lift up to 70lbs
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Positive communication skills as it pertains to interacting with dock staff, operations, and drivers
- Safety-conscious mind-set
