Job Summary
QIDP Surveyor conducting on-site licensure inspections, complaint/incident investigations, and annual comprehensive surveys in Texas intermediate care facilities to assess compliance with federal and state health and safety regulations. Responsibilities include communicating findings clearly, conducting exit conferences with facility staff, writing inspection or survey reports detailing deficiencies and narratives to support regulatory findings, visiting facilities to verify correction of violations, and performing quality assurance reviews of documents. Role requires significant travel (up to 85%), minimal office work, strong regulatory interpretation skills, and ability to work independently as part of a team. Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, experience with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, ability to obtain necessary licensure/training, and the ability to travel statewide; on-call duties and fingerprint background checks are part of the process.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human service field (e.g., sociology, social work, psychology, rehabilitation, counseling)
- Direct experience with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
- Must successfully complete state and federal training to conduct surveys independently within the first year of hire
- Must pass fingerprint criminal background check
