[LTA-TRO] SENIOR/ EXECUTIVE/ DATA ENGINEER - TRANSPORT AI PROGRAMME

Job Summary
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform, and serve structured and unstructured data from diverse transport sources, including real-time streams and batch feeds. Develop and manage data models, catalogues, and feature stores to support AI model training and inference. Ensure data quality, consistency, and lineage across the platform by implementing validation checks, monitoring, and alerting. Implement data governance practices aligned with Singapore Government requirements, including access controls, masking, and audit logging. Collaborate with AI developers and architects to design performant infrastructure within LTA's cloud and hybrid environment, translating technical requirements into production-grade data products. Monitor production pipelines for incident response and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics or a related field
- at least 3-6 years of relevant professional experience
- Proficiency in Python
- Proficiency in SQL
- hands-on experience with modern data pipeline frameworks such as Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, dbt, Airflow, or equivalent
- Experience with cloud data platforms (such as AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Google Dataflow, or Databricks)
- experience with data warehousing or lakehouse architectures
- Familiarity with real-time or streaming data processing
- Experience building feature stores or data pipelines specifically for ML/AI workloads
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality tooling, and metadata management practices
- Experience working in regulated, government, or critical infrastructure environments
- Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
- Inclination to work in a collaborative, fast-moving Agile environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in regulated, government, or critical infrastructure environments — particularly where data sensitivity and access controls are paramount — is a plus
- Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate operational data needs into robust engineering solutions
- Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audience
- Inclination to work in a collaborative, fast-moving Agile environment
