Job Summary
Directs and oversees the preschool program with leadership, supervision, and operational oversight; ensures licensing compliance, staff development, enrollment and finances management, and a safe, Christ-centered learning environment; serves as liaison between the preschool, families, local school administration, and conference office; governs curriculum implementation, program scheduling, budgeting, marketing/recruitment, and community relations in alignment with Seventh-day Adventist education values; requires collaboration with board and conference personnel and maintenance of records and regulatory updates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development plus applicable core courses
- Minimum of 6 semester units (or 9 quarter units) in administration
- Minimum of 8 semester units (or 12 quarter units) in religion
- Minimum of 2 semester units (or 3 quarter units) in adult supervision
- Two to four years of preschool teaching experience
- California Child Care Director Permit or actively pursuing permit
- Pacific Union College Professional Achievement Recognition Certification Level 6 or higher or actively pursuing certification
- Knowledge of California Title 22 regulations and licensing requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
- Ability to work with children, families, staff, and diverse populations
- Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification
- Active membership in the Seventh-day Adventist Church
- Background clearances and health screenings as required
